Frequently asked questions
What gets asked most, answered plainly.
Taban Fertility Center is a specialist centre in Tehran where consultation, diagnosis, the embryology and andrology laboratories, the operating theatre and post-treatment follow-up all happen under one roof.
Infertility is not a diagnosis; it is a path. It usually begins with one simple question and arrives at a series of medical decisions, each of which depends on the one before it. Taban is built on that logic: every stage a couple goes through happens in this building, handled by this team.
In fertility treatment, distance between stages — in time or in space — has a cost. An egg that has to be moved after collection, an embryo that has to leave its controlled environment to be assessed, a file that passes between several centres: each is one more variable. When consultation, ultrasound, laboratory, theatre and cryostorage sit in one place, those variables disappear.
Each couple's treatment is carried by a multidisciplinary team: the fertility specialist, the embryologist, the andrology scientist, nursing staff and a treatment coordinator. Laboratory decisions — the method of fertilisation, the timing of a biopsy, which embryo is chosen for transfer — are made with the physician responsible for the treatment, not apart from them.
You will not find a success rate on this site without the reference population and age range that make it mean something. Outcomes depend on age, ovarian reserve, sperm quality, the condition of the uterus, the cause of infertility and previous treatment; a figure that omits these is not information. Every couple is assessed individually, and a realistic expectation is given in person.
The embryology laboratory works to continuous quality-control protocols, and its equipment — from the time-lapse incubator to the micromanipulation system and vitrification — was chosen against the same standards used in international reference centres.
