How a life takes shape, from one cell to a child

Act one · Before the beginning

Every family
begins at a single point.

Before any name, any voice, any memory — there was a point of light.

Act two · The egg

One cell,
complete and ready.

The largest cell in the human body. Everything needed to begin is already in it, except one half.

At Taban, egg retrieval happens in a theatre seconds from the embryology laboratory — not kilometres from it.

Act three · The arrival

Millions set out.
One arrives.

A distance that, at their scale, is the length of a journey.

When that journey is not possible, ICSI takes its place: one sperm, directly, by the embryologist's hand.

Act four · Fertilisation

In one moment,
two become one.

Twenty-three chromosomes from one side, twenty-three from the other. From this second, someone exists who did not before.

Fertilisation is assessed sixteen to eighteen hours later. No earlier, no later.

Act five · Cleavage

One, two,
four, eight.

Three days, without pause. Each division has to happen at its own right moment.

In Taban's time-lapse incubator these divisions are recorded continuously, without the embryo leaving the incubator once.

Act six · Blastocyst

Day five.
A place for life is built.

A hollow shell, and inside it a small group of cells that later become the child.

An embryo is chosen from how it divided across five days, not from one glance under a microscope.

Act seven · Implantation

It arrives,
and it is received.

The hardest step of the whole path, and the quietest.

Transfer happens at the moment the uterus is ready to receive. If that moment has not come, the embryo waits.

Act eight · The heartbeat

Week six.
Something begins to beat.

Before it has a shape, it has a rhythm.

Follow-up begins in this week and continues to delivery — even after the patient has returned to their own country.

Chapter three · Precision

The invisible world, where the real work happens.

Taban's embryology laboratory runs on classified air, positive pressure and continuous monitoring.

Chapter eight · Hope

Start the
conversation.

The first step is not a large decision; it is a calm conversation. Book a consultation and we will call you on the next working day.
